No broker. Only the tenant.
tner is an Android app where the person leaving a Bengaluru flat posts it themselves, proves they really sleep there, and hands you the keys. No one-month-rent fee.
Every poster's phone is checked at night. Eleven of the last fourteen nights at the flat earns the badge. A broker's phone sleeps somewhere else.
Green is a night at the flat. Grey is a night away. The pale one is a night the phone went quiet.
How we know they live there
Anyone can type an address. tner asks the poster's phone instead. While a listing is live, the app checks in quietly in the background, and only the nights count.
Check in
Every half hour or so, with location permission the poster grants on purpose. Seekers never run this; only phones with a live listing do.
Count the nights
Only 11 pm to 6 am matters. A check-in within 150 metres of the flat makes that night a tick. Fourteen nights make the row.
Verified resident
Nine ticks of fourteen earns the badge. Two addresses on one phone, a faked location, or a phone that is never there loses it, and the listing comes down for a human look.
Raw locations stay on our server and are deleted after fourteen days. Seekers see the count and nothing else. Close the listing and the checks stop the same minute.
Four screens, no middleman
Price pins and clusters on an open map. The badge says who is verified before you tap.
Shot on a phone, stitched on our server
Turn slowly once in the middle of the room. The app locks exposure, shoots eighteen frames on its own, and uploads them in the background. Our server stitches them into one panorama you can look around in.
One slow turn. A ring on screen fills as you go; the phone fires itself when the next dot lines up.
Nothing to edit. Blurry or dark frames are rejected on the spot and you retake only that one.
Room to room. The poster drops hotspots in the panorama so you can walk from the living room to the balcony.
The small things that matter
Questions people ask
Is it free?
Yes. Posting is free, searching is free, chatting is free, and there is no fee to see a number. If that ever changes it will be a small fee to the seeker, never a month's rent.
How do you know the poster really lives there?
Their phone tells us. With their permission it checks in through the night, and only nights spent within 150 metres of the flat count. Nine of the last fourteen earns the badge. One phone posting two addresses, a mocked location, or a phone that is never there loses it.
What happens to my location if I post?
Only phones with a live listing check in. Raw points are deleted after fourteen days and never leave the server. The app shows seekers a count of nights, nothing more, and the checks stop when you close the listing.
Why is it not on the Play Store yet?
This is an early build. Download the APK, open it, and allow installs from your browser when Android asks. Play requires a separate review for apps that use background location, and we are going through it.
Which cities does it cover?
Bengaluru first, starting around Koramangala. The app works anywhere in India, but listings are only where posters are. Post yours and your street is covered.
I am staying and want a flatmate. Can I post?
Yes. Choose "A room, I stay" when you post. The same night checks apply to you, and you can say who you are looking for.
Keep your month's rent.
Type a rent and see what the usual brokerage takes. Then install the app and open the map on wherever you are.
